Joe’s deep connection to the accounting profession spans generations, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great uncle. A graduate of Jesuit High School in Dallas, he earned both his undergraduate degree in Accounting and his MBA from the University of North Texas. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Joe holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designations.
Throughout his career, Joe contributed extensively to professional organizations, including the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. As a valuation specialist, he served in leadership roles and developed the Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) designation testing program for the Alliance of Merger and Acquisitions Advisors. His expertise has been widely recognized through numerous published articles in industry journals.
Now retired from public accounting, Joe’s former tax firm specialized in complex tax matters for high and ultra-high net worth clients, with experience spanning business and real estate transactions, oil and gas, manufacturing, and distribution. In 2024, Joe transitioned from leading his wealth management firm to join True North, where he continued to share his knowledge with the team and remained engaged with investment clients. At the end of 2025, Joe stepped back from day-to-day involvement in the financial planning practice, closing a distinguished chapter in his career. Today, he continues to consult with True North, offering his insight and experience while enjoying an active travel schedule.
